WELL, I was going to start my letter saying, “If people choose to spend their life travelling in caravans around the country and parking up in fields then, that’s ok with me, as long as they are respectful and non-intrusive to the community they have chosen to ‘pitch up’ on.”
That view held until I went for my morning walk with my dog, and saw the disgusting mess that the recent travellers left on the playing area at the top of Old Down Road.
Why do they think it is ok to leave all this rubbish and tree cuttings around the field for others to clear up?
It seems to me they have no respect for the local community and just make locals get very angry and upset by their actions.
Also, what is the cost to us council tax payers for the clean-up operation?
