We'll miss Peter, a prince among PCs

First published in Letters

MAY I and my wife wish PC Peter Nelson a wonderful retirement – he so deserves it.

It was Peter, along with the then authorities, who put an end to the endless daily behaviour from a few young people in and around Turin Court who gave us older folk grief.

Our only hope here, now that your likes won’t be with us, Peter, is the new ongoing local authority whose job it should be to not mix the young in accommodation alongside deserving older folk, but already I’m not holding my breath.

Personally, Peter, we were glad you were never promoted, because not only would many problems go on, but we would have missed the pleasure of knowing a “real copper”.

Best wishes.
