AFTER thinking I would not be contacting the Letters page again on this particular subject, I feel that in fairness I need to add that I received an invitation from a friend to attend a meeting she had arranged with Mr Robert Drew from Test Valley Borough Council regarding the proposed cycle path along Weyhill Road.
He duly discussed the proposal with us and answered most of our questions.
We realise that this plan will be going ahead and it will involve the relocation of two bus stops, the relocating of many of the new street lights recently installed along Weyhill Road, removal of grass verges plus a new traffic island near the junction with The Drove.
We can only hope that cyclists will use and appreciate this new pathway and so make the resulting protracted upheaval in this very busy traffic area while all this is being implemented seem worthwhile.
