UKIP ought to stick to important local issues

First published in Letters

IN response to Mr McCabe’s letter in last week’s Advertiser, I wonder if he or his UKIP friends could answer a simple question?

Why should the residents of Andover care about immigration or the EU?

UKIP politicians are obsessed with talking about these subjects but none of our local councillors have any ability to do anything about them.

I, for one, am yet to see any progress on any of the promises made by them during last year’s election campaign.

I suspect most of the residents of Andover and the wider Test Valley are more concerned with our bins being emptied, our council tax rates, the state of our roads and other civic issues.

Is it too much to ask for them to stick to these important issues and stop filling our historic local paper with nationalist propaganda?
