  • "Well said Derek Weeks. To anyone who wishes to see safer roads, with more money and priority devoted to pedestrians and cyclists, and less to motor vehicles, I would say write letters and contact your councillors - make your feelings known."

Cycle way would stop the carnage

Andover Advertiser: Cycle way would stop the carnage Cycle way would stop the carnage

IN 2012 approximately 19,000 cyclists were reported to
have been in road accidents in this country.
Some 118 were killed, 3,222 were seriously injured
(maimed for life) and 15,751 were less seriously injured.
(Source: RoSPA)
In early 2014, six cyclists were killed in London alone
within two weeks.
This carnage with its toll of physical and mental trauma
would be eliminated if this country had a network of cycle
paths. This would save the NHS billions of pounds and
countless hours of work.
Those people who object to the provision of cycle paths
have failed the test of reason.
