I READ with interest David Drew’s letter in the Andover
Advertiser.
I have no particular view on the content of it. We have,
enshrined in our electoral conventions in this country, the
right to keep our vote our political allegiances private.
However I do not believe that this should include those
who have held or currently hold locally elected positions
on behalf of a political party.
I consider it misleading, and somewhat dishonourable,
that Mr Drew should write a letter to our local paper containing
such strong political view without declaring in it
his elected position or political allegiances so that readers
can be better informed as they read it.
