Canada, no way was the
Daisy Dell a bomb crater.

 

I have a photo taken from a
German bomber; the Daisy
Dell was green then, was
green when I was a boy and
is green now. The hole was
far too big and symmetrical.
 

Most likely it was dug out
by the railway to be used for
an embankment around
1850 (a common practice).
 

The evacuees were
schooled at the Andover
Grammar and some would
cycle home on weekends.
 

The Dell is different now; it
has been bisected by a
sunken road east-west, otherwise
it is the same. Look
on Google Maps.
