I WORK for the Royal Voluntary Service in Andover.

We are looking for some volunteers to help out initially with some painting and decorating/ refurbishment at the office in Suffolk Road.

We have been given some new kitchen units and a toilet from Wicks which we need fitted.

If there are plumbers or kitchen fitters who would do that for us, or electricians who would test the electrics and fit some more sockets for us, it would be greatly appreciated.

It has been neglected for a number of years for lots of different reasons, but mainly down to losing our meals on wheels contract for the council last year and some ill health of some of the volunteers here.

We are now looking at moving forward and setting up a service called Good Neighbours and we are looking for volunteers to help out with a number of tasks – befriending (visit the clients home for a chat), telephone befriending (call a client and have a chat), DIY/ handyperson (do some simple tasks such gardening or cleaning when needed), drivers (taking clients to hospital, doctor’s appointments or shopping), admin assistants, fundraisers (raising money for the service and the Hub) and sustomer support volunteers.
