ON Wednesday, 6 August, at 1pm, in the centre of Enham Alamein, our guests of honour, Falklands veteran Simon Weston OBE and Sir Gerald Howarth MP, will unveil a sculpture of an injured soldier.

This begins the village of Enham Alamein’s commemoration of the beginning of the First World War.

The sculpture is carved from an oak tree that fell in our village. Enham Trust will give life back to the tree, the way we gave life back to injured soldiers following both world wars.

You are welcome to join us and to walk the first section of our Heritage Trail.

Planned to be completed by the end of 2014, the trail takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of Enham Alamein and the Enham Trust.

We do hope you can join us.
