THANK you to everyone that donated to the RAFA stall on Saturday, 20 September 2014. You boosted our funds by £531.00.
I would also like to thank our RAFA volunteers Norman, Jacqui, Anita, Janet and Dot and our RAF colleagues from RAF Odiham led by Flt Sgt Mark Harvey, who all looked very smart in their No1 uniforms.
It was such a pleasure to see a blue uniform in Andover.
We still have a lot to do.
The Twitter appeal is still going strong and next month the ten homing pigeons will be released in France and, hopefully, “Marne” the RAFA homing pigeon, will be in the first three to arrive safely back, boosting our funds even more by a pound per token that has been posted in our “Pigeon Hole” (excuse the pun) in the Chantry Centre.
Next will see the aeronautical (Flight & Navigation) sculpture by Chris Brammall unveiled by the Chalkhill Blue at Monxton Business Park, reflecting the area’s history of the former RAF Andover.
RAFA meet in the Royal British Legion club on the second Thursday of each month.
Please come along for a pleasant social evening.
Thank you again for your support.
Cllr David Bateman, Wings Appeal Officer, Andover Branch RAFA
