We'll all have to pay
THE problem with offering free parking is that it will only benefit people with money.
Free parking just helps people who can afford to drive a car drive to town and will not help people without cars, bus passengers, or those (like me) who choose to walk both for the exercise and to save on petrol and parking costs.
Everyone will pay for free parking through the council tax, whatever their income, just to save a few motorists 45p.
