I AM sending these postcards to show what a thriving town Andover was in the 1950s and earlier.
The postcard of the Upper High Street was the early 1950s, the other one [the High Street, Market Day] is earlier than that.
We had five department stores and several smaller dress shops, etc.
So people that think Andover is doing well today have no idea what it was like then. I know people didn’t have cars to go to other towns to shop, like they do now.
