WHAT a day! Early to rise, radio on, Junior Choice, maybe. Christmas presents to unwrap, festive paper everywhere ‘neath the tinselled Christmas tree. Bomb site!

Remembering Fry’s Five Boys chocolate and Spangles.

Happy faces all around.

Hasty breakfast before the chores.

Some folk off to church.

Mid-morning and stress ensues as well as a welcome tipple before noon (to help the cook of course).

Crackers that don’t go bang with hats that never stay on.

Mid-afternoon turkey and trimmings with compliments to the chef and a toast to good health. Wash, wipe and put away whilst remembering the past year. The Queen’s speech. Sleepy nods off, annoys others with high decibel snoring and repeats on TV yet again. Take part and enjoy the varied opinions about which channel to watch.

High-tech games as well as evening board games with no cheating please. Roasted chestnuts to warm the cockles before a nightcap with everyone back in bed by midnight in preparation for the Boxing Day sales! Been there, done that – tradition!

Where did the day go?

Joyful and happy wassailing to all as this festive new year commences.
