HAVING been born and having lived around Andover for more than 65 years, for the first time in my life I needed to contact the library by phone.
The number in the BT book was 0845 6035 631 (HCC) and after five minutes of beautiful music I was told the line was dead. I then looked in a library book and found a number 01264 352807 which when tried was not recognised.
I then looked out of my front window and saw a post person looking a bit confused and received my mail at 4.15 in the afternoon. In the 1950s the mail was always on the mat by 8am.
Derek Weeks, Andover.
