THE Government has repealed the Trespass Law, taking away homeowners’ rights and handing them over to frackers, who can now drill beneath your land without permission.

According to Government propaganda, drilling at 1.5km will be completely safe. Really?

On the 27th January, Winchester was at the epicentre of a 2.9 magnitude earthquake at a depth of 3km – a major “explosive”

impact at twice the depth of fracking. So will fracking trigger more seismic events and earthquakes?

Ask Blackpool, where fracking was thought to be behind a series of earth temors in the region in 2011.

When corporate and political interests conflict with the truth, trivialities like earthquakes, subsidence, contaminated air and water, risk to human health and a damaged environment are all downplayed to the point of gross public deception. Trust us, we need this, they say. Our experts wouldn’t lie to you.

There are no risks. It will be properly regulated. Oh good...

Except, here’s where it all falls down. The NFU, first of the insurance companies, has refused to cover claims against fracking. Well, this is a bit embarrassing, isn’t it? Because it means insurers know what the “industry/ government alliance” is hiding.

Not only are we stripped of our rights and at high risk, but we won’t even be eligible for insurance.

Furthermore, even if you don’t care about poisoned water and air, you might be less sanguine about seeing the value of your property collapse so you can’t even sell (which is already happening).

Independent science suggests trust in “alliance science”

would be dangerously misplaced.

Nothing must threaten billion-pound profits – least of all the truth.
