I WOULD like to thank you for your support in announcing that myself and wife Dorothy were ending our associating with the British Heart Foundation after serving the local branch of 30 years.

I would be grateful if you would allow me to offer thanks to a number of people who have given their support for the BHF during our tenure.

Firstly I would like to mention the members of our committee.

They are Brenda Hardy, the secretary, Karen Walters and Jeanette Strickland, all of whom have helped us a great deal.

Also I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the BHF by doing our sponsored walks, etc, and those who raised funds for the charity.

I also applaud Laurie Broadhurst for raising many hundreds of pounds from his sponsored swims for many years and David Wayhorn for his help on our sponsored walks.

Thank you again for your support and, finally, if anyone would like to volunteer to help the BHF branch to keep going, please do so.
