Regarding £50,000 payouts for footpath falls (Advertiser).
In 2008 my late mother tripped on an uneven paving slab on Winterdyne Mews, breaking a finger and bruising her face quite badly.
She immediately wrote to the council and Sir George Young to take action, determined only that it should not happen to anyone else. It was difficult enough to get her to see a doctor, let alone seek compensation.
