I WAS very interested in some views of a local councillor recently featured in your paper regarding A-fest.
From what I understand the local Youth Council organised the event and raised the money; should we not applaud them for this, whether it worked or not?
All events and functions are a learning curve for the best of us and for a group of young people working together with local bands and the college and bringing it together as they did is a real achievement.
If the attendance was not as hoped for whatever reason it is something for them to work on for their next event.
From doing a quick bit of research it does seem that Councillor Lynn was anti the town council from the start and this appears to possibly be a case of giving them a kick when possible. They are young people trying to do something for others.
Also interesting that when making comments with regards the cost of the event he did not mentioned the fact that TVBC wrote off £378,000 recently.
Perhaps the councillor should be concentrating on those losses first.
