PRIDE of Andover?

Oh my goodness, this couldn’t have come at a more timely moment, reminding us all of how many incredible citizens we have living amongst us.

I was fortunate to have been a guest on Monday night, so to say that my heart was filled with emotion with the stories that were being read out wouldn’t even come close to encompassing how I felt.

The whole evening was so professionally managed.

The chairman was of course our Deputy Mayor, Cllr Karen Hamilton, herself a past winner.

However on the evening her role was to be the conduit between Esther and Ben Moseby a role she filled with flexibility and understated panache.

Volunteers were doing so many tasks quietly and in the background, so that the evening’s stars, could enjoy their well-deserved recognition.

So many sponsors all contributing to a wonderful evening showcasing the talents not just of those involved in the organisation of such an event, but by being part of it all, throws weight to their support of this town that I feel so justifiably proud of.
