ON Friday May 6 I had a very bad fall right in front of the railway station by the taxi rank.

I injured the whole of my right arm, side and face.

There were such lovely people who had also come off the train, saw me fall and stayed with me.

The female railway staff phoned for the ambulance several times but no response.

A taxi driver offered to take me to A&E but was advised not in case an ambulance came.

A workman put an umbrella over me as it was so hot and sunny and a youth held a jacket to keep me in the shade.

Whilst still being supported a policeman had driven and seeing the crowd around me came and asked what had happened.

I told him and he did a makeshift sling, asked for my friend’s telephone number and eventually got me up.

The taxi driver took me in the end to A&E.

I was so grateful to everyone for all the help and concern.

I had X-rays so I had to go to Winchester where a very kind lady who I have known for a while, called Carol, took me to Winchester A&E.

She stayed with me for more X-rays where I was told I had fractured my shoulder blade and would be hearing from the clinic.

I was in agony and so much discomfort even with a sling on.

We arrived home 10.15ish.

I cannot thank everyone enough.

I attended the outpatients department on the 12th where my X-rays were on the screen.

The very sympathetic, helpful consultant then got a proper sling support on my arm. My best friend took me so again a very big thanks to all.
