WE, as a badminton group, have been playing at the sports centre for about 30 years.

We always play on a Thursday morning catering for ages ranging from 18 to 80 and not once have we been approached by anyone from the sports centre or the council about where will we continue to play after the closure.

For this I put the blame fairly and squarely with the council who are not doing their job of managing the situation.

It affects not only our small group but others as well.

Why has this been left until the last minute for any action to be taken? There has been silence from the council. Is it apathy and disinterest?

I did notice that there are plans to introduce a lot of exercise bikes.

Are they being put in maybe at the expense of the swimming pool, badminton and other sports?

Councillors, please manage the situation.

WHAT a mess the council has made of this whole leisure centre saga.

A new leisure centre should be a positive thing, but sadly the whole thing has been mismanaged.

A real shame.
