I HAVE read in the Andover Advertiser that Marks and Spencer really are closing their shop in April.
It is a sad loss. Hopefully the management will re-assess the needs of our town and continue a presence here that suits their business plan and our needs. We have been assured of this by our local politicians, and they should hold some strong sway in that the chairman of the company is a former Conservative member of parliament.
Let’s hope that it is not the obituary column in which the next letter has to be displayed.
A forceful and persuasive argument has to be made on Andover shoppers’ behalf.
Give it all you’ve got for goodness sake Phil and Kit.
Prove your worth as democratically elected spokespeople for us. If not you will be paying dearly at the next election.
