WHEN I moved to Weyhill nearly 20 years ago, I immediately felt at home and quickly settled in.
Soon after, I went for a walk around the area, taking my beloved camera with me. I took numerous photos of different landmarks, including the local sub-police station. I distinctly remember admiring the beautiful ‘house’ and thinking how fortunate we local people were, to have the enviable luxury of our very own police station.
It’s now three years since they took it away and I have mourned its loss ever since, especially when one sees what has replaced it.
I had quite forgotten that I had taken a photo of it, so imagine my delight when having a ‘sort out’ the other day, I found it I was so thrilled to see my picture of this delightful building, that, as an amateur painter, I was immediately inspired to paint it.
I hope you and readers like it.
