I WAS reborn in 1958 so, unlike Derek Weeks, I am a child of the 1970s rather than the 1960s.
My music taste was always eclectic, ranging from Led Zeppelin to Curtis Mayfield and Steve Hillage. Also, to the rather more obscure Levin Coyne and Ivor Cutler. By 1977, punk was on the menu, with The Clash and The Jam.
Most of these bands and artists I saw live, except The Jam. The night they played the Victoria Halls in Stokeon-Trent, I was on the late shift in the homeless hostel 50 yards away.
Frustratingly, I could hear the sound check from outside the front door.
