Rotary Waitrose collection for Haiti disaster

ON behalf of The Rotary Club of Andover may I thank the people of Andover for their generous response during our collection in Waitrose store on Saturday 23 January.

A sum of £1,353.05 was donated some of which has been Gift Aided so will be even more. Grateful thanks also to Waitrose for the facility to allow people to donate so freely.

When this sum is added to that already donated we have a running total at the time of writing of £6,700. This has enabled us to send 10 boxes immediately and we will be sending more as the donations continue to be received.

Each box contains a 10 person tent, ground mats, thermal blankets, mosquito nets, multi-fuel stove and cooking utensils, plates, cutlery, basic tool kit and water purification equipment. Donations may be made on line at www.rotaryappeal.org.uk or by cheque payable to The Rotary Club of Andover direct to me.

Thanks again to all who have assisted us in our appeal.

Rtn John Stewart, 63 Conholt Road, Andover, SP10 2HS.
