JOAN Randell, from Andover, thinks there are many others who deserve the recognition of the Honours List more than Olympic medal winners and celebrities.

“There are so many unsung heroes out there who don’t get recognised for everything they do, like the Salvation Army for instance,” she said.

“There are people getting their hands dirty but simply not getting the recognition they deserve. People shouldn’t get honours for doing their job.”
