Notice is hereby given that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A303 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:-
a) the eastbound carriageway of the A303 between the exit slip road at Bullington Cross Interchange (A30/A34) and its junction with the road leading from Upper Norton Farm, 1160 metres east of the centreline of the A34 overbridge; and, at Bullington Cross Interchange (A30/A34) -
b) the westbound carriageway of the A303 between the exit slip road and the road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A34;
c) the road leading from the A30 link road to the westbound carriageway of the A303; and
d) the entry slip road leading to the eastbound carriageway of the A303.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge works, drainage works, barrier replacement and maintenance, carriageway resurfacing, road marking and stud replacement, and all associated works.
It is expected that the work would last for approximately 4 days starting on or after Monday 11th December 2017. The overnight closures would take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The Order would come into force on 9 December 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic affected by the closures would be diverted using the A30, A33, A34 and A303. The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
