AN INDEPENDENT building supplies firm which celebrated it 40th year in business in 2017 has moved to new premises.

PC Building Supplies have opened the doors of their new site at Hardley Industrial Estate which is three times the size of their old home in South Street.

Director Tim Dunning. said: “It’s very much ‘business as usual’ for our team who have been working flat out to ensure that every element is functioning correctly for our customers who are experiencing the building for the first time.”

“Our new location is just six minutes from the South Street store we occupied from 1978 until just a few days ago and marks a definite new era for us, with a fresh outlook for our customers with fewer challenges in terms of not just access and parking but the move also allows us to extend our lines and gives the opportunity for further growth.”

Tim added. “Every inch of this building has been utilized including the provision of shower facilities for team members that jog or cycle to work.”

The new centre includes a kitchen and bathroom showroom which PC hope will boost retail footfall alongside the tyrade business.

There will be an official opening event on Friday, September 21 almost 40 years to the day that the former site opened in 1978.

Established in 1977, PC Building Supplies Ltd remains a family-owned business.

While based on the Waterside, PC distributes building materials across the country in their fleet of distinctive yellow vehicles.
