The Peter Cooper Volkswagen Group is holding a free motor care DIY instruction lesson every Saturday morning throughout March at its Hedge End and Shirley dealerships.

The workshops, open to everyone, will be held between 10am and 11am and they are already creating considerable interest amongst their male and especially female customers.

Believed to be the first of its kind, the aim of the workshops will be to demonstrate how to carry out basic procedures like changing a wheel, checking screen wash, oil and coolant levels and numerous other checks that should be carried out before any long journey.

Darren Cooper, managing director of the Peter Cooper Volkswagen Group, said: “We have received considerable interest in the idea behind these workshops and we are genuinely excited to be piloting the idea throughout March. Places are limited so we are suggesting people register now to guarantee them.

“They have been put together following feedback from customers and we are happy to widen the invitation to benefit all drivers, whether Volkswagen or not. They will be very down to earth tutorials for basic level knowledge on car safety and maintenance.”
