THIS stunning white VW MK7 Golf R is the pride and joy of Mike Adamou from Southampton.

He decided to buy the hot hatch as he's a big fan of Golfs and he likes the affordable modifications available on the car.

The motor, pictured here in a rather dramatic thunder storm and with the harbour and a cruise ship as a sizeable back drop, drives like a dream all around England and has also motored through the Eurotunnel from Dover to Calais for some driving on the French routes.

Luckily Mike's favourite car show is Goodwood's Festival of Speed, which is only a short journey away along the South Coast near Chichester.

This year's Covid cancelled event has been replaced by SpeedWeek, a new, one-time-only interactive entertainment experience, taking place from October 16 to 18.

But in future years, the VW MK7 Golf R will be able to return to Mike's favourite South Coast roads and the Festival, which brings more than a century of world-class motorsport and motoring together to celebrate the past, present and future of mobility.

Petrolhead Mike, who says his family support his motoring decisions as long as they make him happy and are sensible, has enjoyed being behind the wheel of a few other performance cars in his time. He's owned a couple of Golfs and a Ford Focus ST, but his favourite is definitely the Stage 2 Golf R.

He's on the look out for a BMW M3 or M5 for his next motor but his dream car is the Ferrari Laferrari, the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer's most ambitious project, which boasts the most extreme performance ever achieved by a Ferrari production car.

Mike told the Daily Echo: "It’s a stunning looking car with an unbelievable technology, which combines an electric motor and V12 engine."

He wouldn't rule out a move to electric.

"Electric is definitely growing on me after test driving the new Tesla," Mike added.
