DISNEY show The Lion King has stampeded on to the stage of The Mayflower, in Southampton.

And with its mix of foot-tapping tunes, breath-taking costumes and quality performers, the well-known classic will not fail to charm all.

With music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice, the plot and soundtrack of a young king finding his paws sticks closely to the popular Disney film.

But the incredible scenery and clever puppetry takes the story so much further than the cartoon film ever could.

The performers make a dramatic entrance through the aisles of the theatre, setting the scene for an actionpacked and dramatic show stopper.

Audience members young and old can not help but be wowed by the mechanisms of the creatures great and small that make their way on to stage.

The stand out star for me was one of the youngest cast members Daniel Daszek-Green who played the young Simba.

The Lion King was a show-stopping experience that will enthral adults and children alike with its music and magic.
