POLICE have descended on the quiet village of Enham Alamein this afternoon after a 'ticking package' was reported in a phone box.
Hampshire Constabulary has told the Advertiser it was called at 3pm to reports of a suspicious package in the box phone on Newbury Road, near the Post Office.
An eyewitness told this paper: "There are four police cars here.
"Apparently there might be a ticking package in the phone box so all the talk is of a bomb scare.
"It's quite worrying."
Police said enquiries are "ongoing" and specialist officers are set to investigate.
More to follow.
