EIGHT speeding hot-spots in Andover will be targeted as part of a new crackdown on law breaking motorists.

Hampshire Police recently updated their 'most targeted' areas for mobile speed cameras across the county - eight of which are in Andover.

These are:

  • Walworth Road, Picket Piece,
  • Andover B3400, Andover Down,
  • Andover Hungerford Lane, Tangley, Nr. Andover
  • B3048, St. Mary Bourne, Andover
  • Andover Road, Monxton, Andover
  • A303, Near Andover A303,
  • Popham A303, Weyhill, Andover

The update follows an article published by the Andover Advertiser in March revealing which roads Hampshire Constabulary's mobile speed camera team targeted most across Test Valley in the last three years.

The information, which was gained through a Freedom of Information Request, showed the A303 as Test Valley's most targeted road.

Over half of all of the 20,000 motorists caught across Test Valley in the last three year's were snapped speeding on the busy dual carriageway.

Speeding drivers through rural villages such as Enham Alamein (A343) and Leckford (A3057) were also targeted.
