PUPILS at an Andover secondary school went out and about in support of the homeless last week.

Winton Community Academy students, including Harrison Flavell and Abigail Jackson supported The Bridge on Tuesday.

Last year, the London Road school carried out its first community day and this year it wanted to build upon that so their inspiring students could make a difference.

At Test Valley borough Councillor Iris Andersen’s suggestion, pupils collected food and essential items for The Bridge Café, in Bridge Street, in support of the homeless people that use the charity.

Headteacher Nathan Thomas said: “As always Winton students have risen to the challenge to support the homeless this winter and in just a few days have a few boxes to donate to the charity.”

The Making A Difference Management Board is made up of members of the community and it meets three times a year to discuss and implement projects to make a difference to the wider community in Andover.
