A PRE-SCHOOL was “thrilled” to unveil its new recycling lorry.

Longparish Little School pupils had the chance to show off their creativity thanks to Raymond Brown Waste Solutions and its Community Matters initiative.

At the end of last year, children were invited by Raymond Brown to use their imagination to design posters themed around the importance of recycling.

The winning posters were then displayed on the lorry, which has now been named after Longparish Little School.

At the unveiling ceremony, pupils got to see their winning designs on their recycling lorry.

Claire Nash, Longparish Little School manager, said: “Given our beautiful countryside setting it’s important to us and our children that we learn about and look after the environment. Our new Raymond Brown lorry is a great interactive way to get the children engaged about recycling and the importance of it within their homes and our community.

“The children loved seeing their colourful designs on the lorry and had lots of questions about the recycling process.

“Longparish Little School would like to thank Raymond Brown for providing this great interactive experience and for contributing to our excellent learning environment.

“The children say ‘we will be able to wave at our recycling lorry when we see it driving by’.”

Pupils also talked to members of the Raymond Brown team and even were allowed to sit in the new lorry.

Colin Bolam, sales director at Raymond Brown, said: “We’re committed to working with schools, colleagues and community groups to develop programmes that educate and inspire the future of our industry.

“We really enjoyed seeing the children’s poster designs about recycling and their excited faces when they saw them on their lorry.

“They’ll be keeping an eye out for us when we’re out and about.”
