AN Augusta Park-based judo club is onto a winning streak as its members brought home another set of medals in its second success in a month.
Scorpio Judo Club took 13 of its young judokas to the Somerset County Open Competition in Glastonbury, where the children won 14 medals on 11 February.
The success comes after Scorpio’s junior sportspeople won a record 15 medals at regional championships on 20 January.
Judo coaches Tim Byrne and Hayley Wise said the children did “extremely well”, bringing home six gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
They added: “A very big well done to them all, the quality of judo was outstanding.”
For some of the children it was their first time taking part in a competition, and all of them came home with a medal.
Scorpio judokas will now be preparing for a national tournament hosted in Sheffield in March, where Year 6-aged pupils and up winners will be competing.
