PUPILS had an ‘unforgettable’ experience in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.
Winton Community Academy took 20 of its pupils on a trip to New York City on Friday, 9 February.
The annual trip gave students six days of culture, sightseeing and the experience of the hustle and bustle of the most populous city in the United States of America.
This is the 10th year the school has run the trip, giving students experiences that they might not otherwise get with staff saying several students had not been out of the country or even flown before.
Year 10 student, Harrison Flavell, said: “The sights and sounds were amazing, it was an exciting experience which I will never forget.”
Winton Community Academy is already planning for next year’s trip to the Big Apple.
Photography teacher, Philip Messingham, said: “It is giving students opportunities like this that really makes teaching worthwhile, whether it is taking students to London or New York, getting them to experience things for the first time and seeing how they adapt is marvellous.
“It broadens their horizons and makes them see that the world is a big place, which is full of opportunities for them.”
