CARERS, cleaners and bosses braved to go bare to undertake a charitable act and pose for a naked calendar.

Staff at Winton Nursing Home whipped off their clothes last year for the fundraiser and have now announced they raised money £1,760 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

With the help of photographer Mary Balfour, a daughter of one of the residents, the staff held regular shoots, which mostly featured naked staff completing their daily tasks.

The calendar was the brainchild of home receptionist Andrea Tallyn-Hancock as a way to raise money for its residents.

She said: “Putting the calendar together has been fantastic fun and has brought all departments together.

“We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and what made it better was that we raised a lot of money for Alzheimer’s Research which hopefully will go some way towards finding a cure for dementia.”

All proceeds from the calendar will go to Alzheimer’s Research UK, which powers studies focusing on prevention, diagnosis and treatments for dementia.

Regional fundraising officer Georgi Welch said: “We’re so grateful to the staff and families of Winton Nursing Home for supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK.

“Dementia affects a huge proportion of the population – one in three people over 65 in the UK will die with some form of the condition. Fantastic fundraising efforts like this will help us to defeat dementia sooner.”
