PUPILS sat down for tea at Icknield School last week in honour of St George’s Day.
For the sixth year in a row the school, in River Way, Andover hosted a celebratory tea party and welcomed special guests to the event on Monday, April 23.
Grandparents, old friends and local dignitaries including Test Valley mayor Councillor Carl Borg-Neal were invited along to join in the occasion.
The school hall was decorated with Union Jacks and tables were filled with goodies that had been prepared by the children.
The Sensory Education class had made table decorations, Class 2 hand painted some pebbles to give to our guests at the end of the party.
Other classes provided cheese shapes, cocktail stick food, biscuits, cakes and sandwiches which were enjoyed by guests and pupils alike.
There was also music from the school’s choir and glee club who entertained the party with some of their favourite songs.
A spokesman for the school added: “Many thanks to St Mary’s Church for the loan of their crockery and also to ‘Sue in the Kitchen’ for keeping the supply of teas and coffees going.”
