A HAMPSHIRE brew has taken centre stage at the seat of democracy in the UK.

Last week, a north west Hampshire brewed beer, Jenny Wren, featured as the guest ale in Strangers’, the MPs’ bar in the House of Commons.

On Wednesday, Mark and Jenny Betteridge of Betteridge Brewery, based at Hurstbourne Tarrant, visited the House of Parliament to meet MPs in the bar and pull pints with constituency MP Kit Malthouse.

Mr Malthosue said: “It was a real honour to welcome Mark and Jenny Betteridge of Betteridge’s Brewery up to parliament for the arrival of Jenny Wren, their golden, single hop, pale ale as this week’s guest beer in Strangers’, the MP’s bar in the House of Commons.

“It didn’t take long for the first barrel to go and before long, every MP had a foaming pint of Hampshire’s finest firmly in their grasp.”
