A CHILD safety campaign is being promoted in Wiltshire to help keep youngsters free from harm.
Wiltshire Council is supporting national Child Safety Week from June 4 to June 10 this year.
The annual campaign promotes partnership between local authorities, fire and rescue services and children’s services to help keep children out of harms way.
Laura Mayes, Wiltshire Council cabinet member for children, said: “Parenthood can be overwhelming and keeping children safe can be very challenging.
“The campaign is a great opportunity to boost the confidence of parents and explore how they can take simple steps to protect their children from accidental injury.”
The Child Accident Prevention Trust, the charity which runs the campaign, offers advice to parents on how to avoid a variety of potential hazards including;
choking, drowning, swallowing small objects or harmful substances, fire, road accidents
