A BEER festival celebrated its 25th year with a weekend of music and real ales.

The Weyhill Fair Beer Festival celebrated its quarter century anniversary last weekend showcasing over 60 real ales from breweries near and far.

Mark Lazenby and Barry Long, landlords of the Weyhill Fair pub since 2014, were delighted that under their watch the pub staged the 25th anniversary in honour of the event founder David Rayner.

Mark said: “Despite low numbers on Friday due to the weather and a third place football match on Saturday, the event was well attended and had a great festival atmosphere.

“We would like to thank everyone who attended for making it such and all those who volunteered, many of them regulars at the pub.”

Local breweries represented included Penton Park Brewery, Longdog Brewery, Sherfield Village Brewery and Test Brewing Ltd.

A variety of music kept the crowds entertained including returning this year to headline on Friday Nokando, supported by Electric Eden. Saturday’s event saw Stonepig, Gray Smith, Jetback and headliners Tractor with frontman Jake Ward perform while on Sunday Andover Folk Club provided a calmer atmosphere.

The event was sponsored by Colin McDonnell Ltd and co-hosted by Andover Radio
