A TEAM have scaled the highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland for a good cause.

The 10-strong team led by Ben Walton of Ben’s Quality Dry Cleaners, based in Union Street, tackled and accomplished the Three Peaks Challenge.

The team, which trained at Énergie Fitness, tackled the three mountains in under 24 hours and raised £5,687 for Andover Young Carers.

Mr Walton said: "Andover Young Carers is an amazing local charity and does fantastic work to help the youngsters in the town who have responsibilities way above their young ages, it’s an honour to help raise money for them."

The team was assisted by Marc Denton of the Wow company, mini bus drivers Mike Walton and Barry Hawgood and a base camp crew of Richard Vaughn and Richard Mason from Anton Rotary Club.

Anton Rotary Club not only donated their time but also £100 sponsorship per climber.

Jill Baines, from the Andover Young Carers, added: “This is an amazing contribution towards our work and will make a very real difference to the support we can offer young carers.

"A huge thank you to all the walkers, supporters and Anton Rotary for the money raised.”
