AN ANDOVER man who assaulted a police officer has been told to address his alcohol issues.
Luke Miles, of Tiberius Road, admitted to three counts of criminal damage and another of attacking a police officer on duty at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Thursday, August 16.
The court heard that on July 9 the 23-year-old “recklessly” damaged a fence worth £150 and when the victim phoned the police the attending officer was assaulted.
On August 13 Miles damaged a glass window before he then went to The Globe pub and broke a window handle and frame.
Magistrates ordered Miles to undergo an alcohol treatment requirement and pay compensation of £350.
