A THIEF who stole food, perfume and electricals in a crime spree across Andover has been jailed.

Corey Robin North appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 15, and pleaded guilty to 11 counts of theft.

The court heard that the 21-year-old stole food worth £53.15 from McColls on May 9 and two days later he returned to the same store when he took more items to the value of £34.

And then on May 12 he walked into a Tesco store and stole four Xbox controllers and a boom bar worth £204.98.

But the spate did not stop there as on May 17 he stole fragrances worth £230 from Tesco.

North then returned to McColls on June 16 and took food worth £30.07, before going to Waitrose on June 19 and took four bottles of spirits to the value of £85.50.

He also took fragrances from Boots on June 20, July 7 and 13 worth over £485, along with perfumes from Tesco on August 13 to the value of £179.

And in his final theft he stole steaks worth over £103 from Sainsburys.

In sentencing, magistrates said that North had “flagrant disregard for court orders” and the crimes were “aggravated” due to his previous offences.

North was jailed for 16 weeks and ordered to pay compensation of £120.
