ANOTHER Andover pub has closed its doors, with little explanation.

Weyhill Fair has put up signs outside the pub to say that it has ‘ceased trading’.

The pub, owned and managed Fullers, was run by landlord Mike Lazenby for a number of years.

The Advertiser contacted Mr Lazenby, but he did not wish to comment further.

Pub company Fullers has been approached for a comment as to whether a new tenant will be sought.

It comes after another town pub, The Merlin, in King Arthurs Way, closed and a search is underway to find a new landlord.

A spokesman for pub operator Star Pubs and Bars said: "The last operator had been running The Merlin for approximately 18 months and chose to leave to run to another pub.

"The Merlin closed when they left at the end of June while we recruit a long-term licensee. The Merlin is a spacious pub surrounded by houses and has lots of potential.

"It is an ideal opportunity for a local person who knows the area and wants to have their own business at the heart of the community.

"Anyone interested should call 08085 949596 or go to www.starpubs.co.uk for more details.”
