A SUMMER of fun was had by visitors to a series of free seaside-themed activity days at a shopping centre.

During August, the Chantry Centre dedicated every Monday to bringing a taste of summer to shoppers by opening Chantry Beach.

Families visiting the centre took part in the sun-filled activities from 11am to 4pm, as the garden space in the Chantry Centre became a beach bonanza, with fun free activities on offer for visitors.

Over 600 children and families took part in games, competitions and won a selection of prizes.

Steve Cotney, Chantry Centre manager, said: “This was the first time we’ve brought the beach to the Chantry Centre, and we’re very happy to report how successful it was at the centre.

“It was fantastic to offer activities to local families throughout the summer holidays as we all know how long they can feel.

“We saw lots of smiley faces with sun visors and hats on, especially as there were also free giveaways across the event days.

“We hope our shoppers have all had a great summer holiday and continue to enjoy the last of the of sun we’re expected to see.”
