BBC journalist and presenter Sally Taylor has been announced as this year’s Pride of Andover Awards host.

The South Today host will present the annual awards ceremony, set to take place at The Lights theatre in October 24.

Sally will replace local celebrity Katy Piper and stalwart host Esther Rantzen, who stepped down in 2016 after a decade in the role, to orchestrate the evening’s proceedings.

The ceremony will see 200 local people gather together to enjoy a three-course meal and find out which of this year’s finalists are to be crowned the winners for 2018.

Speaking of the Pride of Andover Awards, Sally said: “I’m very much looking forward to the awards; celebrating the wide range of achievements met by this year’s finalists, and discovering who are to be crowned the 2018 winners.”

The awards exist to shed light on the town’s unsung heroes - endorsing the inspiring and often selfless actions of Andover’s most generous individuals; promoting a sense of pride in the town.
