CALLS for Christmas spirit are back once again in an appeal to donate gifts to children for the festive season.

Andover Foodbank is encouraging the community to make up filled gift boxes to distribute across the town, which helped around 680 children identified by care workers last year.

Knights Enham Junior School headteacher Hywel Inglis said: "Our parents were overwhelmed with the generosity shown by their community and it provided the families with a collection of gifts that they would not otherwise have been able to afford."

Filled gift boxes should be delivered to Andover Foodbank by November 9.
