PUPILS from North Waltham Primary School were covered in gold for their efforts to promote sustainable school travel.

Kirstie Green from Hampshire County Council’s travel team visited the school to present students with Modeshift STARS gold awards.

Modeshift STARS is a national school awards scheme that encourages schools across the country to increase levels of sustainable travel and active travel to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people.

The school was decorated with gold coloured balloons and pupils put on gold wigs for the occasion.

Every child at the school received a certificate and gold medal thanking them for contributing in some way to the award as every time a pupil walks, cycles or scoots to school they contribute.
